We are getting ready to kick off our season! Thanks everyone for making it out for the qualifier. We learned some interesting things from that race. One big issue that came up is the side draft and hit markers on the cars (or dare we say even aero hit?) So, with that being said we are going to have to really use our heads out there tonight if we are going to get some laps under belts. To help make that last point happen, we will be running a variation of the actual Nascar Format. Here's how tonight's race will go.
Caution - will ONLY be called for wrecks involving 3 or more cars. Single or 2 cars tangles will not result in caution. Do your best to get back on track and pit if you want. If there is a caution, it will be a rolling caution at a pace speed of 45 until the field is sorted and collected, there will be no laps back taken at this time. If you caused the wreck and weren't caught up, you must go to the back of the pack.
Segments
Round 1 - 25Laps - Because we aren't going to be actually restarting the race, all drivers must hold formation after crossing the line on lap 25 (lap 24 is considered last lap) so as i might get the results. Do your best to note your position please. We will be caution free lap 23. Once first segment is over, all lead lap cars will enter Pits for service and HOLD on pit road until all lap down cars are caught up. Lapped cars may then enter pit road once on lead lap. We will all pull of pit road together in correct line up for restart.
Restart on lap 28
Bonus points to the top 5 only awarded as 5 for win , 1 for 5th.
Round 2 - 15Laps - Same as above. Lap 43 is end of segment 2 Lap 42 is " last lap " Lap 41 is caution free.
Bonus points for LAST 5 positions, last getting 1, 5th last 5
Restart on lap 46
Round 3 - 14 laps, Same as above Checkered lap 60, white flag 59, caution free 58.
No bonus points awarded on last segment, just regular points awarded.
Chatter - Please keep chatter to a minimum during green flag runs - be your opponents spotter if possible. Keep aware this includes coming up to restarts.. Because we aren't flagging, I need clear airwaves for race commands.
Final request. IF you are having connection issues and are deemed by your peers as lagging, please drop to back of field until it clears up so as to prevent a wreck. Voice you are going high to fall back.
Look forward to seeing you all out there, be early if possible to make sure everything up to par. I know we are going to get skin transfers from Dan, so keep that in mind as well.
Racing WILL start at 7:45PM PST Drivers meeting at 7:30PM.
